Lucy Peterson Watkins

II am a graphic artist. I find comfort in hard lines, bold colors and sharp angles. I use my fiber (silks or cottons) as my canvas as it softens the hard edges if my artwork. I use thread-play/inks/dyes/quilting to create texture to complete the pieces. I complete my designs with free motion quilting & free motion embroidery. Most all my silk and fiber pieces are hand dyed or inked for pure color. I love to do pieced fiber artworks. Some of my fiber art quilts have more than 5000 pieces. I have been the featured artist three times for the University of Utah Red Butte Garden art show. My shows sold out. I designed the 60th anniversary mug for Utah Public Radio and have been featured in at other Utah galleries. I was Summerfest Faire featured artist I also show my artwork on YouTube in a music video format, under Lucy Peterson Watkins.
" I enjoy creating art by doing something totally different. many of my pieced depict the place I grew up in and love-- The Inter-mountain area. It is important for me to depict the illustration of the familiar, beautiful and unique to the West.
